We all have our favorite pastime that allows us to shift perspective and step outside the challenges of our everyday life. A movie to escape, a chat over a glass of wine, a long walk or possibly a run. If you're more adventurous you may rock climb or paraglide and if you prefer the intellectual you may play chess or bridge.

Some like it physical, some prefer it tranquil and others crave the tingle of intellectual stimulation. Ever wondered what would happen if we combined all three?
Moutain Talking - 60 kms
20 hours of coaching
2 days
...a two day out-of-the-box indulgence for those who have been privileged to experience nearly everything but have not yet found something special enough which brings together work and life in a meaningful way...
Are you prepared to challenge mind, body and soul...

Mountain Talking takes you on a physical journey of approximately 60 kilometres over the mountains of Cape Town from the city centre to Simonstown.

Besides the exhilaration of achieving a challenging physical journey this is far more than your average mountain hike or a trail run.

Spending two days on the mountain is guaranteed to shift your perspective of the world. It will allow to have a different take on the day to day challenges that often creep up and affect our quality of life.

The sheer beauty of the scenery and the time and space to talk with like-minded adventurers, ensures that the experience will remain with you long after your muscles have stopped aching.

Friends Neil Manthorp and Dale Williams (see bios below) will guide you on paths they have trodden over many years while talking about the things that really matter.

They have spent thousands of hours on the mountains above Cape Town, trail-running, hiking and walking while figuring out some of the biggest challenges that they have faced in their businesses and lives.

Challenges such as:
  • finding the right balance between working, generating income and living a great life with family and friends
  • figuring out the best way to collaborate and work with partners
  • communicating more effectively with colleagues (why can't I get through to them?)
  • understanding other people
  • bringing up children
  • staying fit and healthy
  • negotiating
  • there is more but we'll tell you when we see you…
Sometimes alone and sometimes together, there are not many tracks on the mountains of the Cape Peninsula with which they are not familiar.

Having discovered the therapeutic power of mountain talking, they have now teamed up to offer you a new way of looking at your world and the opportunity to shift your perspective.

Bringing together Williams' experience of  coaching executive leaders from around the world and Manthorp's communication skills and keen wit as one of the world’s top journalists, specifically in cricket - you now have the opportunity of being one of only a select few to tackle this unique two day experience.

To qualify you will need to be fit enough to handle two days of running / hiking on the mountains.

We cater for individuals and teams.
"Mountain Talking was conceived with the simple premise that the combination of time, space, nature and talking lead to profound insights, impossible to find in our modern day-to-day environment."
"Conversation has a kind of charm about it, an insinuating and insidious something that elicits secrets just like love or liquor."
Lucius Annaeus Seneca (4 BC-65) Roman philosopher and playwright.
